The nose cartilages
Nasal cartilages
The flexible cartilage that gives the lower nose its shape.
What it does
Below the bony bridge, the shape of your nose comes from cartilage. A central plate divides the two nostrils, and curved pieces form the tip and the wings of the nose. Because it is flexible, this part of the nose can bend when knocked rather than break.
