The medial cuneiform (foot bone)
Medial cuneiform · os cuneiforme mediale
The largest of three wedge-shaped bones in the middle of the foot, behind the big toe.
What it does
The medial cuneiform sits between the navicular and the first metatarsal, on the inner side of the foot. Its wedge shape helps form the transverse arch across the middle of the foot, and two strong leg muscles that lift and support the arch attach to it.
